How offline progress works
Cage Fishing keeps catching fish while you are away — but only if you sink your cages before leaving. That is the official rule straight from the game page: “Sink your cages before leaving to keep catching fish while you’re away.” Log off with cages floating and you throw the AFK multiplier away.
The pre-logout checklist
1) Collect and sell everything currently in your cages so they restart empty. 2) Sink every cage — do a visual pass of your plot before you quit. 3) Make sure your latest luck / catch-quality upgrade is bought first, because offline time inherits your current plot stats. 4) Then leave. Thirty seconds of cleanup turns hours of downtime into income.
Upgrade first, then AFK
Long AFK with weak luck is worse than short AFK after an upgrade. Offline catches scale with your plot, so the order matters: sell, buy the next luck upgrade, sink cages, and only then go AFK. This is the single biggest mistake new players make — banking long idle sessions on an unupgraded plot.
Private servers for clean AFK sessions
Pearl Point’s own tip: if a public server lags, join a free private server. Lag can make collects and sells register late or not at all, which quietly eats your session income. AFK and the Sunday patch cycle
Updates land every Sunday and often touch fish pools and the economy. Plan around it: AFK freely during the week, but collect and sell before the patch window so a balance change never devalues a full cage.
